Short description
Location-Based Services answer three questions: Where am I? What's around me? How do I get there? They determine the location of the user by using one of several technologies for determining a position, and then use the location and other information to provide personalized applications and services. Such a service would be extremely useful, especially to users who are far from home and don't know local landmarks. Other services can combine present location with information about personal preferences to help users find restaurants, lodging, and entertainment. Etisalat is offering two innovative applications of Location Based services, “Mobile Map” and finding “Nearest” points of interest.

“Mobile Map” Service
Mobile Map services enable you to get your location through an SMS with place name and WAP link to view the map. Alternatively you can receive MMS with maps of your location or send maps of your location to your family, friends and business partners by MMS or email. To have a larger view of your location over the WEB, visit www.weyak.ae/lbs.

Finding “Nearest” Points of Interest Service
Nearest point of interest services enables you to find the nearest ATM machine, Petrol Station, Hotel, Restaurant and lots of the other interesting places surrounding you. You can use the service via SMS where you will receive the name of five different places around you with a WAP link to view the maps of these places. Additionally, you can receive MMS message with maps of five places near your current location. Through the EWAP/GPRS at mobile.weyak.ae, Nearest service provides you with an interactive search engine to search for points of interest around you and to find about any place by using a keyword search option.

Product Charges
Each location request is 80 Fils.
Each SMS sent to 1333 is 18 Fils.
1fils/kB for WAP traffic.
From WAP page, SMS forwarding 18 Fils, MMS and Email forwarding 45 Fils.

How to use Mobile Map?
To get started with your Mobile Map service, send an SMS with “mlist” to 1333 and you will receive back an SMS of the following commands:

How to use Nearest?
You obtain Nearest SMS command list by sending “nlist” to 1333 as a result you will receive the following list of Nearest SMS commands:

The Points of Interest that you can search from covers the categories in the following table. To receive list of category on you mobile, send an SMS with “clist” to 1333.

How to use LBS services over WEB or WAP?
To enjoy a larger view of the maps view them over the WEB at www.weyak.ae/lbs or simply view them through WAP by visiting LBS section at mobile.weyak.ae. Use your mobile number as a username and the code that was sent to you by SMS or MMS to access the maps you requested. You can also search for places around you or for certain place name using Nearest interactive WAP search engine by visiting LBS section at mobile.weyak.ae.

Service Mobile Support
LBS service works with all type of mobiles. To be able to use the service enhanced feature of EWAP/GPRS and MMS, you need subscriptions and setting over you mobile handset for these two services. To subscribe freely to EWAP/GPRS send “a weyak” to 1010. To subscribe freely to MMS send “r mms” to 1010.
